Cruise Port Guide

Gran Canaria Cruise Port Guide Info

Nestled between the islands of Tenerife and Fuerteventura, Gran Canaria is one of the eight Canary Islands whose capital city, Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, represents the seventh-largest city in Spain and one of the major Atlantic seaports.
The cruise terminal is located in the heart of Las Palmas, a 100-meter walking distance from Centro Commercial El Muelle, a shopping mall where you can find a variety of shops, a supermarket, and a dining area on top of the building.

Further away, after a 10-minute walk, you’ll reach Santa Catalina park from where you can explore a pedestrian zone full of shops, restaurants, souvenir stores, and cafes.

If you want to soak up some sun or have a coffee in one of the numerous cafes with an incredible sea view, head over to Playa de Las Canteras, a long public beach located just a stone’s throw from the pedestrian area. The beach boasts a long waterfront promenade from where you can admire the golden sands of the beach and gorgeous volcanic landscapes that surround the capital city.

However, if you want to explore the historical landmarks, head to the Las Palmas old town, located around 5 kilometers from the cruise dock. Over there, you can explore the most iconic landmark of the city – an impressive 15th century Gothic Cathedral, an important historical monument dominating Plaza de Santa Ana, a modest square where you can enjoy the view of the old buildings and have delicious tapas in one of the surrounding restaurants.

Finally, if you want to explore further, head over to Maspalomas beach, famous for its impressive sand dunes, located in the southern part of the island, 57 kilometers away from your cruise port.
